Clan Structure - Chapter II (Branches)
*** This will be a brief chapter, as it is really common sense. I decided to write it simply so that you would at least think about the topic, but if you are looking for groundbreaking information, you are going to be disappointed.***
Most clans choice to subdivide their members into groups, known as branches. These branches often times specialize in a particular aspect of gameplay, and train accordingly. There have been a untold number of branch ideas throughout the community's history, but for the purpose of this guide I will cover the most common branches. If you chose to branch your clan, make sure that you chose branches that compliment each other well, and do not perform the same duties in battle.
Some of these are redundant, and few clans have had all of them open at one time. This list is a composition, and not a list of requirements.
1. Army
This is by far the most common, and the most likely to have sub divisions. It generally includes any soldier that walks onto the field of battle. The community has shifted away from having "vehicle specialist" branches, so it is now more common to see the Army using Warthogs, Scorpions, even Banshees and Falcons.
Armies most often see combat during general raids. This is really their bread and butter.
In clans this is often the largest branch. I will now list the common subdivisions; it is notable that some clans had this subdivisions as separate branches all together, although is this a far more rare occurrence.
2. Navy
Navies specialize in the use of navy vessels, although some clans use them as an Air Force, similar to navy pilots (think Top Gun). Navies do "raids," but these raids involved trying to capture the ship on which they were serving.
*** I may be wrong on that, I never really understood the use of navies in Halo clans***
3. Air Force
Air Forces tended to focus on using banshees/Falcons, and served a supporting role during raids.
4. Special Forces
This is really a blanket term. Some clans call them "Special Forces," but I have seen (Devgru, Delta Force, Spetznaz, SAS, SBS, ODST, Rangers, MARSOC, Paratroopers, Spartans, etc), pretty much any unit copied from a real life, or fictional unit. Depending on the clan, there may be more than one special forces unit (such as one per branch)
They are commonly used as the attacking force during raids, or raids of significant importance. They tend to do more intense and specialized training from their counterparts in other units.
5. Vehicle Specialist
I have not seen a major clan operate this branch in recent history. However, this branch would historically serve to use ground vehicles during raids, both offensive and defensive.
